Greg and Lillian's Lake Superior Wedding on Super 8
Alright disclaimer: this was not a real elopement. I love creating art and stories, and have always wanted to capture an elopement on the North Shore in Minnesota, so this past June I drove my best friends up to Silver Bay and forced them to don wedding attire. They played out the role of a couple madly in love. It was much more of a challenge than I anticipated, as Greg can be often repulsed by Lillian (they are besties though don't worry). I had a few scenes in mind I wanted to capture, and while Lillian was all for it, Greg was really struggling to not look like a man who was regretting all his life decisions.
"Greg just act like you love me!" Lillian instructed after another attempt to get him to NOT look like the world's most disheartened-man.
"Oh BELIEVE me I AM acting."
It was a super fun weekend though, and we all ended up having a blast. How had NONE of us seen the Oscar-worthy performances of Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd in They Came Together before that weekend??!! Anyways, check out the video below. I think I was able to cobble together enough clips to make them seem like two high school sweethearts destined for a long life of happiness.
